Jerome Covington

Jerome Covington is a guitarist, composer, and improviser whose music seeks to create a sense of peace, reflection, and openness while simultaneously keeping a touchstone to the traditions of jazz. His sound is lyrical and spacious, shaped by a lifelong connection to improvisation and an enduring admiration for the emotional depth found in the music of the great jazz masters.

Covington began playing guitar as a young child and was drawn almost immediately toward composition and improvisation. For him, jazz was never simply a style of music to be studied from a distance, but a living emotional language capable of expressing nuance, vulnerability, restraint, and joy. Over time, that relationship deepened into something inseparable from daily life. Today, he describes jazz as “as familiar as family,” an essential and ongoing presence that continues to shape both his artistic outlook and his understanding of collaboration.

Brian Citro

A 2025 City of Chicago Individual Artists Program awardee, Brian Citro has been playing and writing music for 35 years. He studied with renowned guitarist and educator Fareed Haque and is a long-time member of The Drastics. He’s performed and toured with JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound, Ted Sirota’s Heavyweight Dub!, Ackah Blay in Ghana, and many others. He leads a jazz quartet with Nick Mazzarella on saxophones, Quin Kirchner on drums, and Matt Ulery on bass, and he co-leads The Hey Lows with multi-instrumentalist and producer Lance Loiselle.

Miguel Moreira

Born: February 12, 1982

Miguel Moreira, guitarist and composer, is one of the most outstanding musicians in the jazz community in Portugal, recognized for his creative timbre approach to the guitar.

In 2010 he formed his sextet that recorded "Câmbio" in 2012, his first album as a leader and composer that had its premiere at Casa da Música as part of the New Values of Jazz Cycle.

He was a resident artist at the Guimarães Jazz Festival 2019 where he premiered and recorded his most recent record "The Darkness of The Unknown" critically acclaimed as one of the best of the year 2020.

Marcel Vallès

Marcel Vallès is a Barcelona-based guitarist, composer and producer blending jazz with Brazilian and global influences. His musical language was shaped through a period of immersion in South America, with a strong focus on rhythm and melodic lyricism.

He maintains an ongoing collaboration with Mirla Riomar, producing her work and performing internationally, and has also collaborated with artists such as Omar Sosa, Letieres Leite and Julito Padrón.

His debut album Boas Lembranças, recorded in duo with Steve Shehan, features original compositions and an intimate dialogue between guitar and percussion.

Johannes Ravn Hagmund-Hansen

Born: August 10, 1998

Johannes Ravn Hagmund-Hansen is an award-winning guitarist and composer from Faaborg, Denmark, now based in Brooklyn, New York City, after having completed his masters degree at the Manhattan School of Music on a scholarship. He is an in-demand player as both a bandleader and sideman, and has performed his own music at renowned venues such as Nublu, Threes Brewing, Fiction (Brooklyn), Le Baiser Sallé (Paris), Blue Note Dresden, as well as major jazz festivals such as Copenhagen Jazz Festival and Aarhus Jazz Festival, among others. He is a proficient bandleader and has released albums with the avant-garde duo Sultenmand, the jazz trio Force Majeure, and has appeared on numerous other recordings, among them the acclaimed debut album of South Korean bassist, Seungmin Jung

Kevin Metzger

Kevin Metzger is an accomplished guitarist and multi-instrumentalist flying down the road through broad plains of fusion. On this journey, he expertly erects power lines strung to pillars of combusting jazz, meticulous progressive and psychedelic rock, honest Baroque era classical, and popular American folk songs. A playful mind, a musician’s artist; his music is built upon high level composition, deep reliance on improvisation, and paramount performance moments. His debut album Many Worlds, a collaboration with longtime friend R. Aaron Walters, blends jazz, classical, and rock influences into a deeply personal and emotionally resonant statement. Tracked live in Austin and completed in Nashville, the record moves fluidly between original compositions and reimagined works by Keith Jarrett, Jerry Garcia, Bach, and Jan Hammer. Miles Mindlin

Miles Mindlin is an award winning virtuoso Jazz Guitarist, composer and bandleader from London. He is based in New York City after completing his masters at the Manhattan School of Music on a scholarship.
He is highly in demand across the UK, the USA and Europe and has performed his own music at venues such as: Royal Albert Hall, Ornithology Jazz club, NYC Closeup, The Vortex Jazz Club (London), Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (London), Dizzy’s Club (Lincoln centre NYC), the Owl (Brooklyn), Copenhagen Jazz Festival and Aarhus Jazz Festival.

His debut album, released on the Fresh Sound label in November 2023 features all original compositions which draw on literature, film and music in equal measure.

Paul Silbergleit

Paul Silbergleit is a Milwaukee-based jazz guitarist, bandleader, composer, educator, and author. Straight-ahead in style, he bears the influence of figures such as Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Pat Metheny, Pat Martino, and Kenny Burrell.

Paul has performed with a wide array of jazz luminaries such as Melvin Rhyne, Phil Woods, Benny Golson, Tierney Sutton, Jon Faddis, Richie Cole, Brian Lynch, David Hazeltine, and Jack McDuff, to name just a few. A member of area jazz supergroup We Six, he has also worked with notable institutions like the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. His critically acclaimed albums Silberglicity, My New Attitude, and January all heavily feature his own compositions, while The Hidden Standard shows off his arranging skills with an amazing variety of reimagined familiar tunes in a sextet setting. His latest release, The Stillness of July (Calligram), presents a mix of unique originals and arrangements, and showcases the great chemistry of the long-running Paul Silbergleit Trio lineup with bassist Clay Schaub and drummer Devin Drobka.
