Davide Sgarra

Davide Sgarra is an Italian jazz clarinetist and saxophonist based in Brooklyn, New York. Born in Varese in 2000, he began performing publicly as a teenager in the Lombardy region, winning first place at national music competitions before pursuing conservatory studies at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague in the Netherlands and a Master of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
Since arriving in the United States, Sgarra has become a sought-after presence on the New York jazz scene, performing with David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band at Birdland Jazz Club, Terry Waldo's Gotham City Band at Arthur's Tavern, and Gordon Webster's ensemble at swing festivals across North America. He has appeared at Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Perelman Performing Arts Center, and on four U.S. national tours with the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. In Europe, he performed as a featured soloist with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, alongside pianist Rob van Bavel at the Hague Marriott Hotel, and toured internationally with the Roaring Cats Jazz Band across the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and Romania.

Raffaele Fiengo
Raffaele Fiengo was born in September 1998 and, from a very young age, was immersed in music—particularly jazz—thanks to his father.
After acquiring his first musical foundations in his local town band, he began studying saxophone at the Civica School of Music L. Piseri in Brugherio, attending professional courses in Jazz Saxophone and History of Modern Music under Antonello Monni, Jazz Piano with Marco Detto, and Modern Theory with Barbara Gervasoni, earning a Diploma in Jazz Saxophone in June 2016.
He later studied at CEMM (Centro Educazione Musica Moderna) in Milan, deepening his knowledge of jazz language, improvisation, composition, and arranging through masterclasses and workshops led by internationally renowned musicians including Walter Donatiello, Tiziano Tononi, Bruno Chevillon, Roberto Gatto, Giovanni Tommaso, Enrico Pieranunzi, and Antonio Faraò.

Lynda Murray

Lynda met jazz photographer Jak Kilby in 1977 they were married in 1980 and had two children, Naomi Kilby (opera singer and artistic director of Opera Alegria) and Zak Kilby (photographic illustrator). She became immersed in the London jazz scene in the late 70’s and 80’s and switched from studying classical piano at music college to saxophone and started to play jazz. Lynda has been on that journey ever since. Lynda is mainly self-taught but along the way has had some coaching on the saxophone and in jazz harmony with an array of great exponents of the genre. She joined John Steven’s Community Music Search and Reflect project in 1984 first as a trainee workshop leader then was kept on as a workshop leader until she left in 1987 due to moving to the South Coast. Since living in East Sussex Lynda has had the opportunity to work with some great musicians and has developed her music writing skills. She has a collection of material that has not been released on CD yet and there are two live recordings on YouTube of three of her compositions Sound Heart, Serenade and Heron.

Inbar Solomon

Inbar Solomon is a saxophonist, flutist, and composer from Tel Aviv, Israel, currently based in New York City. A graduate of The New School’s Jazz and Contemporary Music program, Solomon was awarded significant merit scholarships from both The New School and Berklee College of Music in recognition of his talent and potential.
Deeply rooted in the bebop tradition, Solomon’s playing reflects his admiration for masters such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Barry Harris, and Elmo Hope. His sound on the alto saxophone is characterized by a dark, warm tone, intentionally set apart from the bright style often associated with the instrument. In addition to alto, he performs regularly on baritone saxophone and flute, expanding his palette and bringing multiple voices to his music.

Tangerine is fresh duo of pianist Danielle Friedman (Berlin) and saxophonist Aviv Noam (Amsterdam). Their music is an ongoing exploration of both the differences and the commonality of their inner and artistic worlds, bringing a unique blend of musical aesthetics: jazz, swing, improvisation, and avant-garde approaches mixed with a western classical music touch and Middle Eastern spices. The name “Tangerine” resembles both the enchanting citrus smells of Aviv & Danielle’s homeland and the tangent meeting point between their two similar yet different worlds.
Tangerine aspire to bring all of that with open & full hearts to the listener, engaging in an intimate manner.

Born in Greenwich, CT, Connor Sobieri is a saxophonist, composer, and bandleader whose music draws from the realms of Jazz, R&B, and Rock. Recently graduated from New York University, Connor has had the opportunity to share the stage with such names as Chris Potter, Steve Wilson, Melissa Aldana, Ryoma Takenaga, and Matt Wilson at prestigious venues such as Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, The Appel Room, NuBlu and has toured and recorded internationally. Now based in Brooklyn, NY, he works as a bandleader and sideman, writing music for his genre-bending “Connor Sobieri Group”.

Sylvain Leroux

Sylvain Leroux grew up in Montreal where he studied classical flute at Vincent d’Indy; and improvisation and composition in New York at the Creative Music Studio where he attended classes by luminaries Don Cherry, Anthony Braxton, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and manymore. A pioneer of African Jazz, he is a foremost player of the Fula flute, the traditional flute from Guinea.
