About the Album

The groundbreaking saxophonist/composer Jon Ibragon has released one of his most thoughtful and impactful projects to date: “Server Farm,” an examination of the promises and perils of artificial intelligence. The first of the album’s five extended tracks, the mesmerizing “Colocation,” is named after one of the data centers that drives today’s technology. It opens with the sound of the traditional Filipino gong known as the kulintang. The instrument is played by Levy Lorenzo, who shares Filipino roots with Ibragon. The extended cast of creative musicians continues the piece by improvising around the eight pitches made by the kulintang.

Tracks

Colocation; Routers; Singularities; Graceful Exit; Spy.
