About the Album

This song from the recently released CD "Anahí" by composer Jon Gold (Jon Gold is a lyrical tone poem evoking the smiling eyes of the titular indigineous girl. It features the voice of Marina Marchi and the flutes of Rodrigo Ursaia. Two-time grammy nominee is co-producer and holds down the drums and percussion. The strings were recorded in war-torn Ukraine and this adds a certain poignacy and contrast to the notion of a peaceful pre-colonial Brazil. As the song progresses from the solo piano opening it ends in a joyous "baião" feel with haunting background vocals.
