Bray Jazz Festival is the largest and longest established contemporary jazz festival weekend in Ireland. The event was began in the Millennium year, and in the past 25 years has hosted many of the leading figures in contemporary jazz. The event has built a strong reputation for bringing to Irish audiences some of the emerging voices in contemporary jazz. The festival has hosted performances featuring Joe Lovano, Eliane Elias, Steve Coleman and Dave Douglas, as well as Tomaz Stanko, Louis Sclavis, Bill Frisell, Henri Texier and Tord Gustavsen.
