About the Album
''Good Morning'' is the opening song of Andrés Coll's new album ''Ride to Heaven'', published in April 2026. The song was written during a sunny September Ibiza morning on his piano. Originally written in C, the later transposition to G to better fit the marimba and the violin's range has ringed bells in jazz journalist ears due to its similarity to the ''All Blues'' riff. However, this song is in a traditional 5/4 rhythm and as the artist recalls, had more inspiration from McCoy Tyner for its composition.
Good Morning is the beginning of the album's journey to Destiny. Luminous, without a hint of darkness, it starts and awakens with the energy and mood of a ''Good Morning''.
About the album:
When destiny calls, we must ride into it; that's the spirit behind Andrés Coll's new album’s title "Ride to Heaven".
From beginning to end, the album unfolds as a musical/spacial odyssey (structured as in a dramatic play), through universal human themes: courage, nature’s call, hope, farewells, and the spirit of adventure. Joined by Mateusz Smoczyński and Ramón López, the trio presents their hovering/above ground sound, ''The Avant-Groove''.
Ride to Heaven is both a title and a message: an invitation to ride toward one's destiny with joy and courage, to fearlessly embrace life as a whole.
