On May 8, 2026, Bob Holz will release his new single, “Pink Fur," on MVD Audio. A fun, funky track with an irresistible groove, Pink Fur was designed to get people moving. “I wanted it to be something people can dance to,” says Holz. The track showcases his signature slick drumming style and forward-thinking approach to fusion.
Over the course of his career, Holz has performed and recorded with an impressive roster of artists, including Larry Coryell, John McLaughlin, Jean-Luc Ponty, Randy Brecker, Stanley Clarke, Mike Stern, Elliot Yamin, Darryl Jones, Ralphe Armstrong, and Chet Catallo. He has released eight albums and toured extensively with various ensembles. Early in his solo career, Holz collaborated with Coryell and Armstrong; following Coryell’s passing in 2017, Catallo joined Holz’s band, leading to a series of performances including a residency at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood. Holz has since appeared at major events such as the Syracuse Jazz Festival and performed at venues like The Bop Stop in Cleveland.

His most recent album, Honoring Larry Coryell (MVD Audio, 2025), features seven tracks with Coryell and received a positive review in Jazz Weekly. Holz also recently filmed a video at Sunset Sound in Hollywood with Darryl Jones, the late Dean Brown, Brandon Fields, and keyboardist Billy Steinway.
