About the Album
“Nap on the Sofa” is the title track from my latest EP, released on 27 February via Pretty Decent Music. It’s inspired by the gentle rhythms of a long-term relationship - playful and a little self-mocking. The lyrics focus on small, mundane acts like ironing your partner’s shirts, gently questioning care and what we do for the people we love.
The track was recorded live at 123 Studios, and I love how conversational it feels; the drums responding to piano tinkles, with trumpet and vocals weaving together in close harmony. The band features Jack Lecomber (bass), Rob Dimbleby (keys), Andrew McCoubrey (drums) and Celeste Cantor-Stephens (trumpet), musicians based across Brighton, London, Bristol and Ireland.
The first single, “Make Me Whole”, which was released on the 30th of January, was written while I was performing in Bergen, Norway, overlooking the ocean, and both tracks have received airplay on One Jazz and Jazz FM.
We celebrated the EP with a sold-out launch show at The Crypt, London, on 27 February.
