"Secret Life of Button Boxes: Red Box" is a conceptual journey into a micro-world of sound. Recorded in total darkness to capture the state of lucid dreaming, the album is the first installment of a two-part cycle exploring memory and the "secret agency" of everyday objects.

Utilizing a sophisticated harmonic framework based on 9-tone Moorish Phrygian scales and the Hutsul (Mi Sheberach) mode, Nechaevsky weaves a sonic tapestry that reflects his Ukrainian and Jewish heritage. The music balances structural anchoring with fluid improvisation, performed on multiple custom-built resonator kalimbas and prepared cello, seasoned with some pan flute and percussion.
