Roomet Jakapi
Roomet Jakapi is an Estonian experimental vocalist, known for exploring the possibilities of the human voice through extended techniques and free improvisation. He has collaborated with numerous distinguished improvising musicians, including Chris Pitsiokos, Fred Frith, Rieko Okuda, Antti Virtaranta, Guilherme Rodrigues, Emilio Gordoa, Taavi Kerikmäe, Mart Soo, and many others. He is a member of the bands Punkt Nihu, Impromachine4000, Kreatiivmootor, and Rooluulend. Outside of music, he is an Associate Professor of History of Philosophy at the University of Tartu.
