Lauren Bush

Canadian-born, London-based vocalist Lauren Bush has established herself as one of the UK's leading contemporary jazz singers, combining an expressive lyricism with an adventurous musical spirit. Equally at home interpreting the Great American Songbook as she is performing her own compositions, she has become known for her impeccable phrasing, conversational scatting and ability to uncover fresh perspectives within familiar repertoire.

Since releasing her debut album, All My Treasures (2016), produced by Ian Shaw, Lauren has developed an increasingly distinctive artistic voice. Her second album, Dream Away (2021), introduced a greater emphasis on original composition and collaborative writing, earning a place in Bebop Spoken Here's Top Ten Albums of the Year. Her latest release, Tide Rises (Mighty Quinn Records), premiered to a sold-out audience at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and was later named the publication's No. 2 Album of the Year. The record showcases Lauren's evolving songwriting alongside inventive arrangements by longtime collaborator Liam Dunachie.

A finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Lauren has performed extensively throughout Europe and North America. Recent years have seen her touring across Germany, Belgium and Ireland before returning to Canada for a 10-date tour spanning Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, including appearances at the Markham Jazz Festival, The Jazz Bistro, The Bassment and Frankie's Jazz Club.

Raised in a musical family in British Columbia, Lauren has been surrounded by jazz from an early age. That grounding continues to inform her approach today: performances built on storytelling, spontaneity and genuine musical conversation. Whether in an intimate club or on a festival stage, she brings warmth, sophistication and a contemporary perspective to the jazz tradition.

Lauren is currently writing and recording new material for her fourth album with Mighty Quinn Records, due for release in early 2027.

Lauren Bush: Dream Away

Read "Dream Away" reviewed by Bruce Lindsay

There's no “i" in “team," or so the motivational speakers of the world will have us believe, but as far as music is concerned every effective team needs an ear or two. The team responsible for Dream Away—from vocalist and lead artist Lauren Bush to the instrumentalists and producers—is well-served by ears and uses them to excellent effect. Throughout this album of standards and contemporary songs it's clear that everyone listens—to the words, the music and each other—crafting a collection ...

Lauren Bush: All My Treasures

Read "All My Treasures" reviewed by Dan McClenaghan

Toronto-bred and now London-based Lauren Bush introduces herself --on her debut, All My Treasures--as a traditional, vivacious, and supremely confident vocalist, in the mode of Ella Fitzgerald or Anita O'Day. And the tunes she calls her treasures are mostly from the familiar end of the Great American Songbook spectrum. The voice is sassy/brassy, horn like, her diction as precise and sharp as knife blade, and her soul--that shines through, throughout--embraces these forays into twelve tunes with high-spirited panache, ...

Lauren Bush: All My Treasures

Read "All My Treasures" reviewed by Bruce Lindsay

"I love the human race," sings Lauren Bush on the opening track of All My Treasures, Bob Dorough's life-affirming “I've Got Just About Everything I Need." It's a positive sentiment, just one brief moment on an album that bursts with positivity, an album that sounds like the product of a mature and very experienced artist. Surprisingly, it's the debut release from a singer who's yet to reach 30 years of age. Bush--born in Canada and now based in ...
