Elly Brouckmans
Elly Brouckmans (1998), based in Brussels, is a Belgian alto and baritone saxophone player. In 2023, she graduated from the LUCA School of Arts in Louvain with magna cum laude. She received lessons by Frank Vaganée, Dré Pallemaerts, Peter Hertmans and Jos Machtel.
Currently she is furfilling her master of music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels, where she is taught by Jeroen van Herzeele and Stéphane Galland. As a child, she was introduced to the world of bigband by her dad and she quickly fell in love with the genre.
She is well known as an alto, flute, baritone and bass clarinet player in the Belgian bigband scene, working for bands as Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Hnita Bigband, Royal band of the Belgian Navy and Rebirth::Collective.
She had the opportunity to share the stage with Gwilym Simcock, Camille Bertault, Tutu Puoane, Dré Pallemaerts and Jos Machtel during concerts at Belgian and international jazzclubs and jazz festivals.
