Guitarist Bobby Broom's trio of more than 20 years' standing (bassist Dennis Carroll & drummer Kobie Watkins) convenes for this deep dive into the songbook of Sonny Rollins, with whom both Broom & Watkins had worked on stage & on record. In addition to "Alfie's Theme," "Doxy," & the first movement of "The Freedom Suite," the trio essays less obvious but equally rewarding choices such as "Allison," "Paul's Pal," "Kim," "Valse Hot," "Strode Rode," & "Pent-Up House."
