Album Description

Pianist and composer Camilla Vaitaitis makes her jazz debut as a bandleader with her new album I Grew Up. Featuring acclaimed musicians Adam Gang, Patrick McDevitt, and Kevin Matthews, this collection of songs is a celebration of Vaitaitis' musical trajectory and artistic growth throughout her life thus far.

Longer tunes like "Monstera" and "Pluto" with plenty of room for the band to stretch and explore together are complimented by shorter, emotionally evocative vignettes like "Timelapse" and "Doe." The album tells a story about a young woman with a deep love for music growing up, leaving impostor syndrome behind, and coming into her own as an artist.

I Grew Up is a celebration for the four-year-old Camilla who begged to start piano lessons, the 7th grader who discovered a deep love for the Beatles & Elliott Smith, the high school senior who decided to follow her gut and pursue music for a living, and the Camilla of today who has come into her own as one of the most unique and dynamic creative voices in Denver's music scene.
