From Dust is British trumpeter Steven Nichols' debut album. The 7 original compositions on the album were formed gradually during his years as a student at the Royal Academy of Music, developed through playing and studying with the other four musicians on the album, all fellow Royal Academy alumnai: saxophonist Charlie Rees, co-composer of 4 tracks; pianist Rueben Goldmark, bassist John Jones & drummer Amund Kleppan. The title alludes to Nichols' Christian faith.
