Presenting the debut album from guitarist and bandleader Vladimir Redzic, this recording is shaped by a deep respect for tradition and an ear for nuanced interplay. The record highlights Redzic’s lyrical phrasing and bright tone, guiding the listener through a thoughtfully curated selection of timeless standards.
Pianist Steve Ash can be heard across the entire project, whose playing provides both mature accompaniment and beautiful solos. The rhythm section personnel shifts midway, offering two distinct yet cohesive instrumentations. In the first half, bassist Jonathan Meyer and drummer Steve Little establish a swinging foundation, supporting the group with powerful sensitivity and drive. The second half features a drumless instrumentation with bassist Neal Miner joining Ash and Redzic. Miner’s seasoned touch and melodic sensibility complements Redzic’s guitar lines and Ash’s piano work with depth and sophistication.
A special highlight comes on the fifth track, where vocalist Ale Nuñez is featured, lending her rich tone and tasteful interpretation to the recording. Her contribution expands the album’s sonic palette through a captivating rendition of “These Foolish Things”.
The album stands as a cohesive and elegant tribute to the Great American Songbook, balancing reverence with personal expression. Under Redzic’s leadership, the group delivers performances that are both intimate and refined, inviting listeners into a timeless musical conversation shaped by masterful musicianship and genuine artistic connection. Throughout, the musicians demonstrate a shared commitment to interplay, listening, and storytelling—core elements that elevate these classic songs beyond simple interpretation.
