The Hey Lows blend lofi aesthetics, hip-hop beats, jazz harmony, and improvisation into something new. Founded and led by Brian Citro and Lance Loiselle, the group draws from Chicago’s rich musical heritage to create music that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. Think mellow vibes with mean beats, structure from spontaneity. Their new album, Comer Post, on Chicago’s DIBS Records features Clif Wallace on drums and Gerald Bailey on trumpet and electronics. Recorded live at the Gary Comer Youth Center studio on Chicago’s South Side, they reshaped the music in post-production, reimagining sections and adding new layers with fresh parts.
