Margo S. is set to make a striking artistic statement with the release of her full-length album Ashes and Diamonds, out April 4th on Truth Revolution Recording Collective. Born in Poland and based in New York City, Margo blends the freedom of jazz with the emotional depth of pop, poetry, and contemporary music to tell deeply personal stories through song. Following the independent release of her EP Prism, Ashes and Diamonds is a culmination of years of reflection, inspired by life experiences—both joyful and painful and influenced by greats like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Miles Davis.

The album features a stunning lineup of New York jazz talents, including David Kikoski, Spike Wilner, Stacy Dillard, Leandro Pellegrino, Ricky Rodriguez, and David Hawkins. Together, they bring Margo’s compositions to life across original works like “Fight for Life,” dedicated to her son’s medical journey, and “New York City Streets,” a hopeful anthem written during the pandemic. She also reimagines jazz standards like “Stormy Weather” and “Don’t Explain” with her own interpretive style, as well as a jazz rendition of Polish icon Stan Borys’ classic “Coraz to z Ciebie,” featuring Borys himself in a moving cameo.

The title Ashes and Diamonds borrowed from a poem by C.K. Norwid—symbolizes transformation, survival, and the beauty that emerges from struggle. With heartfelt lyrics, rich arrangements, and a modern jazz palette, Margo’s debut album is more than just a record—it’s a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of honest storytelling through music.
