Filipa Santos

Born:

Filipa Santos is a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist living and working in Porto, Portugal.
 Her current work explores improvisation, electroacoustic interventions, extended vocal techniques, electronics, and wind instruments inspired by Portugal's intangible heritage and incorporating various jazz, avant-garde and world music influences into their music. She is one of the founding members of folk/ prog group Mandrágora.

She was awarded with the Carlos Paredes award for the album "Mandrágora" for the best non-classical instrumental album ex-aequo with "Ascent" by Bernardo Sassetti.

Duarte Ventura

Born:

Duarte Ventura, born in 2000, began his musical studies at the age of ten at the Associação Filarmónica Arganilense, attending percussion and music theory classes. At the age of twelve, he started studying at the Conservatório de Música de Coimbra, continuing his classical percussion education. In 2015, he decided to change direction, focusing solely on the vibraphone and the jazz genre, joining the Professional Course of Jazz Instrumentalist at the Conservatório de Música de Coimbra. After three years of the course, he was admitted to the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, an institution that allowed him to have classes with renowned national and international musicians, such as Jeffery Davis, André Fernandes, João Moreira, Afonso Pais, among others.

Pedro Molina

Pedro Molina is a double bassist from Murcia (Spain), based in Porto (Portugal) since 2017. With A Name I Knew, he presents his second album as a bandleader. This quartet project (guitar, piano, double bass, and drums) brings together Portuguese musicians and explores an original repertoire rooted in jazz, ranging from pop/rock influences to free improvisation.

Initiated in 2022, the project has been presented at festivals such as Murcia Jazz Festival, Loulé Jazz, Criajazz, Out Jazz, Seixal Jazz, Guimarães Jazz, Festival Porta Jazz, Campus Jazz, Estarrejazz, and Qué Jazz é Este?.
