Bob Holz

Born: February 3, 1958

Bob Holz and A Vision Forward is drummer / composer Bob Holz (Larry Coryell, Stanley Clarke, John McLaughlin, Jean Luc Ponty, Darryl Jones, Mike Stern), guitarist Steve Robinson and bassist Vynce Watson. They are touring to support Holz's new release, Holz-Stathis: Collaborative which features John Mclaughlin, Jean Luc Ponty, Randy Brecker, Ralphe Armstrong, Alex Acuna, Brandon Fields, Jamie Glaser, Ada Rovatti, Billy Steinway, Airto Moreira and Dean Brown.

An alumni of Berklee College of Music, Bob majored in performance and composition with teachers Gary Chaffee and Joe Hunt. He went on to study privately with Dave Weckl and Billy Cobham. Holz has composed and recorded for many live and studio recordings. Holz has also toured extensively as a band leader with Bob Holz and A Vision Forward and The Bob Holz Band.

​Bob has worked with Larry Coryell, John McLaughlin, Jean Luc Ponty, Airto Moreira, Elliot Yamin, Ralphe Armstrong, Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Stanley Clarke, Darryl Jones, Dean Brown, Alex Acuna, Ric Fierabracci, Brandon Fields, Chet Catallo, Jamie Glaser, Steve Weingart, Ada Rovatti, Mike Miller, Ben Shepherd, Dian Moreira and Billy Steinway. Holz has shared the stage with James Cotton, Peter Tosh, The Outlaws, Mountain, Noel Redding, Foghat, Molly Hatchet, Head East, Savoy Brown, Wolfman Jack, The Winters Brothers, Blackfoot, Shemika Copeland, Johnny Winter, Eddie Money, Maria Muldaur, Dr. John, The Grass Roots, Three Dog Night, Blue Oyster Cult, Elvin Bishop, Duke Robillard, Renee Austin, Marcia Ball, Sue Foley, Otis Rush, Pinetop Perkins, Commander Cody, Point Blank, Grinderswitch, Stillwater, Bobby Kimball of Toto, Orleans, Brian Howe of Bad Company and George Clinton/ Parliament Funk.

As of 2019 Holz has seven albums as a leader.

On February 8, 2019 Bob released his seventh album, SILVERTHORNE for MVD Audio. The album is comprised of 10 new original tunes and features Bob's deep grooves along with some high energy jazz rock fusion drumming. Mike Stern appears on guitar along with Randy Brecker on trumpet,Ralphe Armstrong on bass, Alex Acuna on percussion and Brandon Fields on sax. Other players include Jamie Glaser, Andrew Ford, Ada Rovatti, Billy Steinway and Alex Machacek.

Rodrigo Recabarren

Born: October 20, 1982

Originally from Santiago de Chile, Rodrigo Recabarren is a drummer/composer that has crafted a sound that integrates his Latin American roots with the tradition of Jazz improvisation and Indie Rock. Over the past decade, Recabarren has recorded and toured around the world with artists including Guillermo Klein, Claudia Acuña, Perico Sambeat, Brad Shepik, Melissa Aldana, Camila Meza and Jeff Miles among manty others and with his own groups, Beekman, MURAL and Novas Trio.

Mareike Wiening

Mareike Wiening, percussionist and composer, spent six years in Brooklyn, New York, where she cultivated her musical career. Since 2019, she has been commuting between the United States and Cologne, Germany, while actively participating in the international jazz scene.

Her career as an independent jazz musician encompasses a diverse array of projects and ensembles in New York and Europe. Since 2022, she has been serving as a lecturer in jazz percussion at the Zurich University of the Arts.

The Mareike Wiening Quintet, featuring longstanding musical partners Rich Perry, Glenn Zaleski, Alex Goodman, and Johannes Felscher, was nominated for the 2022 German Jazz Award. In November 2023, their third album, Reveal, is set to release on the renowned New York label of Dave Douglas, Greenleaf Music.
