Satoshi Sugiyama

Satoshi Sugiyama(杉山 悟史) spent his early childhood in Hamburg, Germany, from the age of four to twelve, where he began studying classical piano during elementary school.
He later encountered jazz while studying at Kansei Gakuin University, and quickly became active in local live music venues.

In 2008, he was awarded Second Grand Prize at the 2nd Kobe Next Jazz Competition. He made his national debut in 2010 with his first album “Someday,” released by JAZZ LAB. RECORDS.

Sugiyama has since performed internationally, including an appearance at the New Orleans French Quarter Festival in 2012. In 2014, he moved to the United States on his own, spending two years collaborating and performing with local musicians.

After returning to Japan, he has been based primarily in the Kansai region, performing nationwide and collaborating with a wide range of artists.

In 2026, he released his second album “Monologues,” recorded entirely as a solo piano work, on diskunion / Kamnabi Records.
