Kristijan Krajnčan Quartet: Honey Sparks In The Dark

Read "Honey Sparks In The Dark" reviewed by Ian Patterson

The hit of honey on tastebuds and the met gaze of a homeless man may seem like curious seeds of inspiration for an album, but Kristijan Krajnčan is no run-of-the-mill artist. A double threat as a virtuoso cellist and drummer, Krajnčan is also a filmmaker and soundtrack composer. What perhaps best defines his artistry is an organic appreciation of music that recognizes no boundaries between genres, or between past and present. For the Slovenian multi-instrumentalist, everything belongs in the great ...

He got an acoustic guitar two years later but switched to bass after high school.Jukič is a prolific musician and composer, finding his comfort zone ...

PRESS QUOTES

And like Caminos the gloria the music (on IZZA) falls into a loose free-bop style, with the lack of piano or guitar giving the band a nice ‘open’ sound. They’ve been together for four years and have clearly developed a strong rapport with Robert’s nine originals giving them plenty of space to take chances and spread their wings. Pete Butchers, IZZA @ jazztoday.co.uk, 2022

“The quartet proved itself as a tight unit with an excitingly solid and playful rhythm section and multilayered solistic parts.” CAMINOS DE GLORIA/IZZA PRIMORSKI VAL

(…) Life must be lived, and Robert’s "LIFE" must be heard (…) LIFE @ Concerto, 2013
