Martina Liviero
Martina Liviero is a songwriter, composer, guitarist, and vocalist from Argentina, currently based in Brooklyn. Her music seamlessly blends the richness of South American songwriting with elements of chamber music, contemporary jazz, and experimental folk.
She has performed extensively across New York City, Buenos Aires, and Boston, appearing at a wide range of venues and collaborating with diverse artists — including Grammy Award–winning pianist Kevin Hays, with whom she performed at The Village Vanguard in 2025.
Her debut album, Formas al Desaparecer, will be released in May 2026 on the independent label Hilo Records. The album features nine original compositions written and arranged by Liviero, and produced by Brazilian composer Rafael Martini, known for his work with Egberto Gismonti. With this project, she expands the boundaries of Argentine songwriting, weaving woodwind chamber textures into a singular and deeply intimate musical language.
Recorded between Belo Horizonte and New York City, the album features Liviero on voice and guitars alongside bassist Martin Nevin, pianist Julian Shore, and Brazilian clarinetist Joana Queiroz, among others.
Liviero is a recipient of both the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award and the JEN Young Composer Award, and holds a degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music.
