Domas Žeromskas
The 25-year-old Lithuanian jazz pianist and composer has spent his early formative years on stage alongside prominent native jazz veterans. By the time he graduated high school, Domas was already a sought-after player, known for his technical versatility and soulful, eclectic taste.
At the age of 18 Žeromskas released his debut album “Infinite Itinerant”, showcasing original music composed and arranged during his teenage years, some tunes dating back to 2015. Along with an abundant team of Lithuanian musicians, the album featured guest performances from Braxton Cook & Gustav Karlström.
In the following years he has been recording and touring internationally with artists such as Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Gregory Tardy, Farayi Malek, Naledi Masilo, Tom Scott, Ryan Sands, and was also part of Euroradio Jazz Orchestra, hosted by WDR (Cologne, Germany). In 2021 he started the acclaimed trio with Ian Quinton Banno on bass and Héctor L. Falu Guzmán on drums. Besides serving as a first-call rhythm section at Berklee College of Music and for a handful of seasoned jazz musicians, the group did multiple residencies in Lithuania, performing festivals, teaching clinics and working with a handful of local and visiting artists.
Upon graduating from Berklee, Domas recorded “Meditations on Providence and Perseverance, Vol.1”. Featuring collaborations with Gregory Groover Jr., Nadje Noordhuis, Gregory Tardy, Alexandria DeWalt and many others, the album appeared in March 2024. The 2nd volume of this project is set to arrive in the spring, featuring Joel Ross, Langston Hughes II and Luan Pommier.
The pianist currently resides in Boston, pursuing his masters at the New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Jason Moran, Ethan Iverson, Ran Blake, Jerry Bergonzi and others. Domas’ original music combines Post-Bop and metrically-nuanced modern jazz with Gospel/sacred music traditions and Afro-Caribbean styles. The repertoire is also enriched by modern adaptations of his native Lithuanian composers’ songbook and Baltic folklore.

A title like Infinite Itinerant may seem like a premature (or even pretentious) statement coming from a player in his late teens, but Domas Žeromskas' sparkling debut shows that he's got enough ambition to back it up. The young leader's piano work smartly builds on past decades of swing and bop alongside contemporary hipness, and the all-original pieces follow suit. If this happy session is any indication, Žeromskas seems poised to live up to that exploratory promise. This is a ...

His heartfelt music is shared with a band that becomes a choir, meaning they breathe together. His piano sound is radiantly clear and full of soul. This is a balm.” - Jason Moran
