My advice to new listeners...listen as much as possible to as many different artists and genres possible.

My House Concert Story
I brought Sonny Rollings to American University in DC in 1980. Not only taught me a bit about how to deal with artists, managers, agents and publicists but budgets, unions and the politics of dancing. Opening for Sonny was pianist Kevin Toney (RIP, from the Blackbyrds), who became a good friend for many years.
