My Jazz Story
Filippo Bianchini
Saxophonist - grew up between Rome and Orvieto;
He began playing tenor saxophone at the age of 10, listening to Johnny Griffin live at Umbria Jazz and records by Massimo Urbani, John Coltrane,
Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Monk, Miles, and others...
He studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
He lives between Brussels and Rome.
He recorded five albums under his own name, all produced by the historic Belgian jazz label "September."
He plays at various jazz festivals and clubs (North Sea Jazz Fest, Umbria Jazz, Terni in Jazz, Casa del Jazz Roma, Jazz Station Bxl, Alexander Platz
Roma, SanTeodoro Jazz, Jazz Fara, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Padova Jazz Festival... and many more).
He performs in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Finland, New York, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Croatia, and Portugal, often with
great musicians (Steve Grossman, Andy Gravish, Reggie Workman, Billy Harper, Ack van Rooyen, Jean Louis Rassinfosse, Gwilym Simcock, Norma
Winstone, Guillermo Klein, Nicola Andreoli, Daniele Tittarelli, Francesco Satolli, Anat Cohen, Domenico Sanna, Rosario Giuliani, Maurizio Giammarco,
Claudio Filippini, A. Cohen, Roberto Gatto, Luca Mannutza, Roberto Tarenzi, Francesco Puglisi, Stefano Di Battista, Antonello Salis, Riccardo Fassi, and
many others).
He continues to blow on the saxophone, always striving to do it better than the day before!
