Studio Sessions A 10 Year, 24‑Musician Journey Born from Tom Emmi’s Studio Jams and Lest We Forget Sessions Veteran drummer Dave Hanlon, whose musical journey began in 1961, proudly announces the release of Dave Hanlon: Studio Sessions, a dynamic collection of performances recorded over a 10‑year span with 24 musicians. Every track on the album originates from the acclaimed Studio Jams and Lest We Forget sessions — both created and produced by Tom Emmi, whose spontaneous, collaborative environments brought together musicians from across the jazz, funk, and rock worlds. Shaped into a cohesive album by producer Charlie Bertini, Studio Sessions blends the improvisational spirit of jazz, the deep pocket of funk, and the drive of rock. The result is a vibrant, organic, and deeply human musical experience that reflects the chemistry of musicians creating in the moment. “These recordings capture the joy of real collaboration — musicians coming together without rehearsal, trusting each other, and letting the music lead the way,” says Hanlon. “It’s a celebration of the people I’ve played with, learned from, and loved over the years.” The album also includes selections from the emotional Lest We Forget tribute sessions, honoring musicians whose artistry and friendship shaped Hanlon’s life behind the kit.
