My Jazz Story
My House Concert Story
Wednesday I went to Stanley Arts, a new location for jazz near me. It is a small intimate venue, with a mostly middle aged audience. Featured were Nigel Price, one of the best jazz guitarists in the UK , Fraser Smith on tenor sax and Chris Hyde Harrison playing bass. The group blended very well, and I think Fraser Smith, whom I have not heard for some time, was playing better than ever. We were also treated to a few songs by the events organiser Kitty Whitelaw. She sang Black Coffee at a very slow tempo almost like a blues. I thought it was one of the best renditions of Black Coffee I have ever heard. All in all a really relaxed session.
