About Me

I'm an attorney, but most importantly for this website, I'm a writer and a jazz appreciator. I was an arts and entertainment contributor and editor for my college newspaper many moons ago, but writing kind of fell by the wayside after I went to Law School. The bug hit me once again when I began contributing to The New York City Jazz Record and Jersey Jazz Magazine (the magazine of the New Jersey Jazz Society). I now consistently write album reviews, live reviews, Q&A's, profiles and other articles on the music. I love all types of jazz, from the straightest- ahead post-bop to the free-est avant-garde jazz (and everything in between). I share a home with my wife, two boys, and way too many animals to list here.

My Jazz Story

I've been a music fan as long as I could remember, and I've always enjoyed writing about music. Jazz is the most interesting type of music. No other genre has the depth or diversity of jazz, and no other genre is as challenging or rewarding to write about than jazz. Writing about jazz deepens my relationship with the music, enhances the interactions that I have with the musicians' artistry, and enables me to put something out into the world that has the potential to benefit art and artists during a time when they need it the most.
